Food transcended mere nourishment, emerging as a vibrant tribute to cultural heritage and shared joy. Vendors served everything from time-honored recipes to bold fusions, crafting a global culinary adventure that encouraged attendees to savor the diverse legacies of their neighbors.
Belonging:
At heart, the festival created a welcoming haven for inclusion, compassion, and collective pride. Tailored programming embraced everyone—seniors, youth, kids, newcomers, families—sparking genuine exchanges and meaningful connections.

The 2025 festival ignited the stage with 29 captivating acts, blending cultural heritage, local pride, and intergenerational artistry to echo St. James Town’s electric pulse.

Cultural Dances: Flamenco flair, Kathak precision, Bollywood sparkle, Western fusions, Chinese traditions, and a soul-stirring Ethiopian showcase
Musical Arts: Reggae grooves, pop anthems, rock riffs, Spanish serenades, acoustic strums, keyboard melodies, flute whispers, and Chinese Opera elegance
Theatrical & Literary: Evocative poem readings and kids’ dramatic performances
Fitness & Movement: High-energy, crowd-pumping dance fitness routines
Fashion & Expression: A whimsical Kids Fashion Show honoring everyday community heroes

The 2025 Festival on September 6 brought together over 2,000 community members for a vibrant celebration of St. James Town’s spirit.
Theme: Beats, Bites, and Belonging: Celebrating Community Through Rhythm, Flavor & Connection

- 7 food vendors and 5 artisan vendors offering global flavors
- 90+ volunteers creating a welcoming, safe environment
- Attendance from MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam, Councillor Chris Moise, and MP Evan Solomon
- Expanded kids’ zone with bouncy castle, magician, face painting, and henna art
- 51 community booths from partners like The Corner, TNO, TNG, Unity Health, and Toronto Police Service
- Inaugural Changemaker Awards celebrating community heroes across 6 categories
- Special “Bites of Belonging” community recipe booklet featuring 12 global recipes

Community Tabling Zone:
The tabling zone buzzed as a dynamic mix of services, resources, and connections. More than 30 organizations joined forces, providing hands-on access to essentials like healthcare, housing assistance, legal guidance, food security, youth engagement, and arts opportunities.

Volunteers and Collaboration
The success of the St. James Town Festival relies heavily on the dedication of its volunteers and community partners. More than 90 volunteers contributed their time and energy in 2025, supporting everything from event setup and safety to activity coordination and guest assistance.
Special Highlight: Recipe Booklet
Keeping with the theme of Beats, Bites, and Belonging, the Festival Planning Committee created a special recipe booklet featuring 12 recipes from around the world, contributed by our own diverse St. James Town residents. The booklet celebrated dishes from Venezuela, Ethiopia, Germany, the Philippines, Eritrea, Georgia, Uganda, Eswatini, Ukraine, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Kenya, truly reflecting the heart and spirit of St. James Town.Download Recipe Booklet (PDF)
