St. James Town is one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Canada. With 65% of residents having immigrant status and 73% being non-white, it’s also one of the most diverse. This is reflected in some of the amazing food choices offered in St. James Town and Cabbagetown.
One of the many ways you can try delicious and diverse foods is at The Corner’s Green Café! Every Tuesday and Thursday from 12pm-4pm (or until it runs out), The Corner at 240 serves up $5 vegetarian combos, a main, rice or pasta and a soup. And they’ve recently started accepting card payments for a small fee.
Some of my favourite meals served up this month were the Moroccan tagine with couscous and minestrone soup, the Harira soup with vegetable biryani and the Mexican zucchini boats with Ukrainian-inspired beet soup.
You can sit down and eat your meal with the community or take it to go, either way both your wallet and tummy will be satisfied!
